Privacy Policy: Your Data, Your Control.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we use your data.
Overview
Finuary Inc. ("Finuary", "we", "us", or "our") operates the Finuary financial tracking platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service. By using Finuary, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
This policy was last updated on July 12, 2026. We may update it from time to time and will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the date above.
Account & Identity Data
When you register for an account, we collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form). If you contact us, we also collect the contents of your message and any attachments.
Financial Data
To provide portfolio tracking, you may connect or manually enter financial information including investment accounts (401k, brokerage, mutual funds), cryptocurrency holdings, bank account balances, and Indian saving instruments. We store this data solely to power your dashboard and never sell it or use it for advertising purposes.
Usage & Technical Data
We automatically collect certain technical information when you access the service, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited, and timestamps. We use Cloudflare for hosting and infrastructure, which collects observability and performance data on our behalf subject to Cloudflare's privacy practices.
Cookies & Similar Technologies
We use strictly necessary cookies to maintain your session and keep you logged in. We may use analytics cookies to understand how the service is used in aggregate. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect certain functionality.
To Provide and Improve the Service
We use your account and financial data to operate and personalise your portfolio dashboard, process transactions, send service-related communications (such as account confirmations and security alerts), and to diagnose and fix technical issues.
To Communicate With You
We may send you transactional emails related to your account, such as password resets, billing receipts, and important policy updates. We will only send marketing communications with your explicit consent, and you may opt out at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us directly.
For Security & Fraud Prevention
We process usage and technical data to detect and prevent fraudulent activity, unauthorised access, and abuse of the service. This is necessary to protect both you and other users of the platform.
Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, we process your personal data under the following legal bases: (a) performance of a contract — to deliver the service you signed up for; (b) legitimate interests — for security, fraud prevention, and service improvement; and (c) consent — for optional marketing communications. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the platform (e.g., cloud infrastructure, payment processors, email delivery), each bound by confidentiality obligations and permitted to use your data only to perform services on our behalf. We may also disclose your data when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Finuary and its users.
Access, Correction & Deletion
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request corrections to inaccurate data, and request deletion of your data where we are not required by law to retain it. You can update most account information directly within the Finuary dashboard. For deletion requests, contact us at support@finuary.com.
Data Portability
You have the right to receive a copy of your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format and to transmit that data to another controller where technically feasible. To make a portability request, contact us at support@finuary.com.
California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, disclose, and sell (we do not sell personal information); the right to delete your personal information; and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights. To submit a verifiable consumer request, contact us at support@finuary.com. We will respond within 45 days.
Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. After account deletion, we may retain certain data for up to 90 days for backup and legal compliance purposes, after which it is permanently deleted. Financial transaction records may be retained longer where required by applicable law.
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, and access controls to protect your personal and financial data. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
